The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, yesterday
broke his silence over the $9.3m arms deal scandal in which his private
jet was used to carry the huge sum of
money out of Nigeria to South Africa. Speaking at the National Executive
Council meeting of CAN at the National Christian Center in Abuja,
Pastor Oritsejafor absolved himself of any wrong doing, saying he would
never do anything that would tarnish the image of Jesus Christ
"I
wish to assure you that I will not do anything to tarnish the image of
Jesus Christ or compromise the divine standard of the church. As
you are all aware, the media has been awashed in the past few days
about an unfortunate incident involving the movement of funds from
Nigeria to South Africa. In the unfortunate news reports, attempts have
been made to link me directly with the transaction. So
far, I have refrained from making any direct public response pending
the time that I would have briefed the leaders of the church and
explained my position on the issues to them.

Barely a week after a building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God collapsed in Edo state killing three
people, another church building has collapsed in the state.
A building belonging to Liberty Power Bible Church a.k.a Power Palace at Asoro
Slope, off Ekenwan Road in Benin city, Edo state, collapsed yesterday
September 28th.
According to reports,
the incident happened shortly after members of the church left the
building after the close of service. No life was lost.
The owner
of the land where the church was being constructed, Ajor Sylvanus, told
reporters that the

A fire outbreak at the Volta River Authority power station at Winneba last Saturday night had thrown six districts in the Central Region into darkness.
The districts are Winneba, Kasoa, Apam, Dawurampong, Agona-Swedru and Gomoa Dago.

President John Dramani Mahama has announced government plans to establish two gold refineries to process and add value to the country’s gold production.

Nigerian troops captured this monstrous
T-55 armored tank pictured above and a highly sophisticated Armored
Personnel Carrier from Boko Haram members on Friday September 26th as they tried to invade
Maiduguri, the Borno state capital through Konduga.
According
to reports, the sect members approached Konduga with the tank after seeing that they were losing the gun battle with
the troops. Over 100 militants were killed and a few soldiers also lost their lives in the battle that lasted several hours.
The
captured armored tank and the Armored Personnel Carrier have been taken
to the Malmalari barracks in the state. Soldiers have since expressed
shock over
the type of weaponry the sect men have. They said this particular tank
has camouflage painting that made it blend with the area, making
detection from air almost impossible. Some top military officers say
this recent weapon
capture shows that the sect is being funded by powerful people as well
as having foreign links.
Three students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology
(ESUT), Agbani, are in critical condition at the the University of Nigeria Teaching
Hospital (UNTH) after being shot and wounded by suspected armed bandits who invaded their hostel, The Nation reports.
The affected students are currently undergoing intensive surgery at
the hospital where they were rushed to in the early hours of Saturday.
One of the students was shot in the stomach and it was suspected that
some pellets of the bullet were lodged in his abdomen for which doctors
are battling to remove.

You know how one incident can destroy everything you've worked hard for
all your life? Well, that's what's happening to Pastor T.B Joshua now.
He has come under severe criticism and scrutiny following the collapse
of a building inside his church premises that left more 115 people dead.
Now, many people believe his miracles are not real. Yesterday, a South
African journalist published a report where he rubbished all the
miracles that supposedly happens at the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
"I challenged the pilgrims to provide me with medical proof that they
had been healed. None did.” journalist Jacques Pauw wrote..
The church has reacted to the published report via their Facebook page,
claiming that all their miracles are 100% real because they were
performed before the church and broadcast live via their Emmanuel TV.
