History Of HIV/AIDS, How It All Began And Origin.

The origin of the Aids pandemic has been traced to the 1920s in the city of Kinshasa, in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo, scientists say.

An international team of scientists say a "perfect storm" of population growth, sex and railways allowed HIV to spread.

A feat of viral archaeology was used to find the pandemic's origin, the team report in the journal Science.

Popular dancer Kemi Omotoyinbo dies during child birth

Popular dancer, choreographer and part actress Kemi Omotoyinbo has died. The beautiful lady who danced for several popular musicians including Pasuma, KWAM 1 and Shina Peters, died during childbirth in a private hospital in Lagos yesterday October 1st exactly 20 days after her wedding to husband Godwin Eloanyi, which was on September 13th.

According to her friends, Kemi was in and out of labour for several days in a private hospital and when she couldn't give birth the natural way, doctors said she would have to do a C&S. The doctors told her the operation would cost N450k and demanded an initial deposit of N300k before they do it.

According to Kemi's friends, the husband couldn't come up with the money immediately but begged the hospital to carry on with the operation that he would pay the next day (October 1st) but the hospital insisted on the deposit and refused to carry out the operation. Sadly, Kemi passed away last night.

Singer Tiwa Savage and her husband, Tunji ‘Teebillz’ Balogun are rumoured to have split – living separately.

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2014 in a lavish wedding ceremony in Dubai, may be headed towards divorce is the rumours about their marital problems are true.
Reports have it that Savage’s husband, who doubles as her manager, has been hitting her. The domestic violence, sources say, led the singer to move out of their matrimonial home.
An insider says the beating started before they tied the knot but the Wanted singer still went ahead to marry him.
The last straw, it was learnt, happened about four weeks ago when Savage confronted Teebillz over alleged infidelity but he turned violent and beat her up.

Ini Edo And Husband Split, Bride Price Returned

 

Nollywood actress, Ini Edo and her husband, Phillips Ehiagwina have ended their six year old marriage, according to an exclusive report by Stella Dimoko Korkus.

The source says the marriage, which had been struggling, finally came to an end about five weeks ago.
A close friend of the actress claims the marriage broke down due to very strong allegations of ‘serial cheating with evidence’ but that the couple who are pretending to still be in talking terms might cite irreconcilable differences.

The man who designed the Nigeria flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi was decorated as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic, OFR, by President Jonathan today September 29th, 55 years after designing the flag.

He wasn't only given an award today, president Jonathan also said he will be placed on a lifetime salary that must be in line with what any Senior Special Advisers earns. 

No other government before this government found Pa Akinkunmi worthy of a national award or a lifetime salary. So happy for him.

60 Nigerian soldiers to face trial for mutiny today

60 Nigerian soldiers including 2 corporals, 9 Lance corporals and 49 privates who refused to partake in an operation in Maiduguri on August 4th will be arraigned before a military court today Sept. 30th at the Sani Abacha barracks in Abuja for committing two offenses, conspiring to mutiny and mutiny.

According to the charge sheet, on August 4th the soldiers had refused to join the "111 SF Bn troops" led by Col E. A. Aladeniyi to Maimalari Barracks for an operation, thereby committing an offence tagged "conspiring to mutiny" against the authority of the division, an offence punishable under Section 91(1) of the Penal Code Cap P89 LFN 2004 as well as outright mutiny which is punishable under Section 52(1)(a) of the AFA CAP A20 LFN 2004.

The charges  are said to be triable in the GCM under Section 114 of the AFA Cap A20 LFN 2004 and punishable under Section 91(1) of the Penal Code Cap P89 LFN 2004.

$9.3m arms deal scandal: Oritsejafor breaks silence, says I have no hand in it

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, yesterday broke his silence over the $9.3m arms deal scandal in which his private jet was used to carry the huge sum of money out of Nigeria to South Africa. Speaking at the National Executive Council meeting of CAN at the National Christian Center in Abuja, Pastor Oritsejafor absolved himself of any wrong doing, saying he would never do anything that would tarnish the image of Jesus Christ

"I wish to assure you that I will not do anything to tarnish the image of Jesus Christ or compromise the divine standard of the church. As you are all aware, the media has been awashed in the past few days about an unfortunate incident involving the movement of funds from Nigeria to South Africa. In the unfortunate news reports, attempts have been made to link me directly with the transaction. So far, I have refrained from making any direct public response pending the time that I would have briefed the leaders of the church and explained my position on the issues to them.

church building collapses in Edo state

Barely a week after a building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God collapsed in Edo state killing three people, another church building has collapsed in the state.

A building belonging to Liberty Power Bible Church a.k.a Power Palace at Asoro Slope, off Ekenwan Road in Benin city, Edo state, collapsed yesterday September 28th. 

According to reports, the incident happened shortly after members of the church left the building after the close of service. No life was lost.

Anita Oyakhilome's name & pic removed from Rhapsody of Realities

Anita Oyakhilome has been excluded from the newly released October-2014 edition of Rhapsody of Realities, Christ Embassy's monthly devotional. The devotional, which was started many years ago by the now estranged couple, usually had both their pictures and writings in the pages, but in this new 31-page edition, there's not one pic or article attributed to Pastor Anita, just pastor Chris.

Also, the back cover of the magazine which usually had a picture of the couple now has only Pastor Chris on it. See the exclusive pics after the cut...
