Web developer faces trial over alleged fraud, stealing

A web developer, John Odili, who allegedly duped a woman of N108, 000, was on Monday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Odili, 45, is standing trial on two counts of fraud and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Edet Okoi, said that the accused committed the offences sometime in March, at Opebi, Ikeja. continue.............

According to him, Odili obtained the money from one Mrs Adewumi Inakoju on the pretext of creating and designing a Website for her son.
“The accused did not create the Website and also failed to refund the money,” he said.
Okoi said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 312 prescribes 15 years imprisonment for offenders.
Odili, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Margaret Dan-Oni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till June 30 for mention.
