South Africa United In Grief As Fallen Hero Is Laid To Rest

South Africa Senzo Meyiwa
South Africa is united in grief after fallen hero Senzo Meyiwa was laid to rest at an emotional service in Durban on Saturday.

Not since the funeral of world statesman Nelson Mandela last December, has there been such an outpouring of emotion.

The Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and captain Meyiwa was shot dead in a botched armed robbery in Vosloorus outside Johannesburg last Sunday.

There was an immediate outpouring of grief as the nation tried to come to terms with the senseless tragedy.

What made the 27-year-old’s death more heart-wrenching was the fact that his appointment as national captain had coincided with a remarkable turnaround in the team’s performance.

6 Wrong Ways To Do The Squats

6 Wrong Ways To Do The Squats
Squats are one of the best exercises for a stronger, fitter you—but only if you do them right. So before you crank out another rep, make sure your squats aren’t falling victim to these all-too-common mistakes:

1. Letting Your Knees Fall In
A combination of wide hips and weak inner and outer thighs makes this mistake pretty much ubiquitous among women. Unfortunately, when your knees move in toward each other during a squat, it can put undue pressure on your knee ligaments, resulting in injury, says exercise physiologist Marta Montenegro, C.S.C.S. But correcting this mistake isn’t as simple as willing your knees into place. You need to strengthen your inner and (especially) outer thighs, she says. Lateral band walks are a great way to do just that.

Why Buhari May Not Defeat Jonathan

“Buhari has been running for President since 2003 and … For one, a lot of intellectual energy is usually expended analysis him and the many baggage he represent. In the process, core issues that should be tackled at election time get suspended” – Abimbola Adelakun, (Back Page) The Punch, Thursday 23rd October 2014.
Gen. Buhari and President Jonathan The heavy contradiction and self-indictment inherent in the above lines summarises the essence and meaning of her essay. How can intellectual energy be channelled to analyse a non-core issue? Such energy cannot be said to be of any intellectual value; it is at best an emotional one. If Abimbola can admit that herself and the people she represent has channelled all their energy in analysing Buhari – of course, we know it to be the manufacturing of and creation imaginary fears to scare the poorly informed masses away from him; refusing to focus on that which is important; she should go ahead to tell us more of the interest they protect by so doing.
