According to reports from Premium Times, several staff of the university administrative office, ‘Senate building’, were still held inside the building as at 5:50 p.m. as students barricaded it to demand an audience with the Vice Chancellor, VC, and ensure a reversal of the fee hike. “The charges being paid by the OAU students were not only the lowest in the entire Nigerian University system but also the most ridiculous in the entire tertiary educational system in Africa,”Mr. Omole said while defending the hike, early June, at a press conference
