As The Super Eagles play their first match in the on-going World Cup today, time 8pm nigerian local time.
Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada has sent a message of goodwill to the Nigerian National Team and ha expressed optimism in their ability to emerge victorious.
The governor in a statement by his Special Adviser Media and Strategy, Mr. Jacob Edi said the team has all that it takes to have a fruitful and commendable outing at the global football fiesta.
He opined that as the team would be having its first group encounter today and in their subsequent matches he was optimistic of victory.
Wada noted that the calibre of players and the technical crew of the Super Eagles are first rate and when these are combined with the re-known “Nigerian Can Do Spirit” they would hold their own against any team in the world.
He therefore called on all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to support the team with prayers so that they would re-enact their African Cup of Nations performance and show the world that African football has indeed come of age.
