2. Although the army has not given any specific reason for its action against some Nigerian newspapers including Leadership, Nation and Vanguard that were yesterday seized at different roadblocks mounted by the military, guild of editors and other well-meaning Nigerians have said that the action of the military was highly illegal. It was reported that the said papers could not reach some states as distributions were frustrated by some Nigerian armies acting on orders from above.
4. The Adamawa state Governor, Murtala Nyako through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Ahmed Sajoh has condemned a statement credited to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP that PDP controlled states were more peaceful than those controlled by the APC. Nyako said it was wrong for the ruling party and Mr. President to politicize national security; hence there would have been no need for such statement.
5. As search continues to ensure the release of the abducted girls of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, the military authorities have started the court martial of some of its men and officers for cowardice, negligence and conspiracy among others. The affected officers would be tried in both Abuja and Kaduna and they made their first appearance before the police yesterday.

A clergy and expert on counter-terrorism, Oladimeji Thompson, of The Omoluabi Network, who has been working with other groups to assist victims of Boko Haram insurgents has revealed how one of the escapees of Boko Haram got raped 15 times by 15 men. He narrated how traumatized the girl was while she divulged her experience in the hands of the terrorists.
7. At the fourth Nigeria’s Governors Forum retreat held on Friday in Port Harcourt, the Forum Chairman, Chibuike Amaechi has called for peace among members, saying that the division among them was not healthy for the Forum.
9. The Concerned Nuskka Professionals, through its lawyer, Victor Opara, is protesting what it termed the de-registration of its people, which it said was totally unacceptable. Having declared voters registers of 230 polling units out of 280 in Nsukka missing as they were erased from the data bank of INEC, the INEC has called for a fresh registration. However, The Concerned Nsukka Professionals have demanded to know what happened to the missing registers.
